Project Overview & Process
For the Holiday Sale, I was tasked with developing the wintery theme and design for the campaign in addition to managing all the website updates once the sale started. As the project lead, I worked closely with the Graphic Designer, Digital Marketing Manager, Ticketing Manager, and Director of Marketing & Communications from initial concepts to finished landing pages and everything in between.
The three Holiday Sales themes I created were: Winter Wonderland, Festive Garland, and Aurora Borealis. After finalizing the theme, I developed several layout designs focused on making the designs special while maintaining the Seattle Opera brand identity. Each theme needed 5 or 6 different backgrounds, which were often stock photography. However, for the Festive Garland theme, the Graphic Designer and I photographed most of the images.
After we decided on the final layouts, I would start building the landing pages on our test website for review. During this time, I would also be working on creating all the digital assets needed to announce the deals to our patrons. Once the designs were approved on the test site, I would move them to the live site and prep all the website updates that would take place over the sale.
The assets I created for each daily deal were: responsive landing page designs and builds, email headers, images for social media posts, and website updates to reflect the specific details. While some of the themes were re-used multiple times, each design was tweaked slightly to accommodate new hero photography and copy.
